Amanda Root is an English stage, screen, and voice actor. In 2009 her performance in "The Norman Conquests" earned her a Tony nomination for Best Performance for a Featured Actress in a Play. She also played the voice of Sophie in "The BFG", held the starring role in the 1995 BBC film adaptation of Jane Austen s "Persuasion", and played Miranda in the British television comedy "All About Me".
