Eve Arden (1908 1990) was an American actress whose career of nearly sixty years covered stage, radio, film, and television. She had roles on stage in New York in the 1930s and 1940s when a minor role in a comedy sketch attracted notice. She went on to radio, television, and film, playing supporting and leading roles, but she may be best remembered for her role as the sardonic but engaging high school teacher Connie Brooks in "Our Miss Brooks". She was inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame in 1995.
