Summary
A Woman of No Importance is a play by Irish playwright Oscar Wilde. The play premièred on 19 April 1893 at London's Haymarket Theatre. It is a testimony of Wilde's wit and his brand of dark comedy. It looks in particular at English upper class society and has been reproduced on stages in Europe and North America since his death in 1900. (Summary by Wikipedia)

For those listeners who seem to be unaware of the fact, this fascinating work by Oscar Wilde is a PLAY, not a short story or novel. This explains why, being a sound recording not a video, a narrator is necessary to read the stage notes which introduce us to the various characters and their movements. All but one of the readers/actors are good in their parts and the production moves at a reasonable pace. Thank you Librivox and participants.

It’s Oscar Wilde what’s not to love. He was so ahead of his time in subject matters and his wit is unparalleled.

I liked the story, but the vocal intonations ,some of them, were too fake.

I'm not fond of this reading. There is one narrator who is so stilted and monotone that I had to abandon the story and search for a different narration.

Sorry I I did not get into this story. With the interruption of someone saying what was happening in the background.

This short novel or long story was very engaging. I had never read any of Oscar Wilde's work before and now I am a true fan. The author conveys the complexity of human nature and the prejudices of the time with humor and savage honesty. I read this a couple weeks ago and don't really recall anything specific about the narration which means it was good and didn't overwhelm or distract from story it told.
