The book was suggested to me by someone who wasn’t a fan of it but thought I might like to try reading it and I must say, while I do love murder mysteries and detective books, I didn’t much care for this one. I only became slightly interested in the story by chapter 39 and by then the book is nearly over.
Finally!!! I've been looking for something that grabbed me like Where the Crawdads Sing. This is the one! If you're tired of all the politically correct/get woke "literature" and just want excellent writing and narration, look no further:) All the characters were fully developed and relevant, as well as just the right amount of detail. I could't wait to listen every single day!
Very dark & heartbreaking. It was recommended by our book club member. Not my usual reads, but finished. Wouldn’t recommend.
This was a heartbreaking, interesting story of children that mimic so many children’s lives in the US, unfortunately. It painted a picture beautifully and brought me to tears twice.
The narrator is okay but he would go from talking about one set of characters to another without a pause and it would take a few seconds to understand what just happened. It was annoying
Horrible narration and story line!! Don't waste your time or money!!
Angry, bitter narrative poorly developed. Tedious.
