We Are All the Same in the Dark: A Novel

This book is SO good! It was beautifully written, and the narrators were EXCELLENT! I really can’t say enough about them. I also loved the fact that this book is a mystery, but still has some funny parts to it. There were a few times I found myself laughing out loud because of things characters said. I’m just really happy I got this book, because I absolutely loved it!

Couldn’t even finish it. Painfully boring

I truly loved this book because it brings you through the perspective a few different narrators and the suspense is very strong throughout the whole right until the very end. The ending is also very conclusive so we as the readers don’t have to wonder/ponder what actually happened. I read it very fast and I was surprised how attached I was to each character not yet not knowing who to trust. Great read!

I loved this book! The narration was excellent, and the book kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time.

I was immersed by the thrill of complexity of secrets, lies, and life of the characters in a small town. After the first few chapters, I couldn’t wait to listen again! I would recommend this read.

I hate to leave a negative review but I feel the need to for this one. This could have easily been a 4 star for me due to the concept of the story. But there are so many unnecessary details and run off stories added that it is very hard to keep up. There were many times I had to rewind because I thought I must have missed something but didn’t. It feels forced and unrealistic in the sense of how the characters spoke/acted. The idea of the story is great but I can’t recommend this book unfortunately due to the style of writing.

This book is so boring. like reading dull journal entries about 2 people and their prosthetics. It had no mystery and absolutely no thrill.

The narration was great, it gave me a visual of each of the characters but I hated this book. I honestly couldn’t wait til it was over, I stuck it out because I wanted to know who the killer was. Sure it was suspenseful but it was so dragged out and there was so much babbling it honestly bored me to the point where my mind would drift and I would lose part of the story. It was also a complete turn off for me how the author felt the need to inject her political views in places where they where completely irrelevant. To top it off the ending the I was waiting so long for was unfulfilling.

Storyline was just ok. I kept waiting for there to be some suspense and a plot twist, but it never came. If you’re looking for an easy to listen book to pass the time, why not!

I liked the narration. The story was good, but some points l found my attention drifting away causing me to have to backtrack. This causes me to get a little mixed up on who the narrator was talking about. I am still not sure about how I feel about the end. The explanation made sense, but just felt a little flat. I did enjoy it-I just wasn't "wow'd" by it.
