True North

“Stranded in the Alaskan wilderness with a celebrity” was not on my bingo card. Neither was sharing a tent with the cocky Australian actor who enjoys pushing my buttons.

As a New York trauma nurse, I’m no stranger to chaos. Stress. Burnout. This trip was supposed to be my escape from all that. I desperately needed these two weeks in the Far North to clear my head so I can make a decision about the promotion I was offered. Somehow, I’ve lost sight of my goals, and I’m not entirely sure I know what I want anymore.

So, when I booked a room at a remote lodge, I expected silence and tranquility. Fresh air and peace. The time and space to think. Instead, I got THE Wes Emerson.

I try to keep my distance, but it’s a lost cause when a tundra excursion goes awry, and fate’s warped sense of humor throws us together.

Now I’m stuck in the Arctic with a bronzed surfer dude who thinks his charm can win me over.

Well, the joke is on him. I couldn’t care less about his insanely blue eyes and big muscles. I’m not interested in his gorgeous smile or the way my heart flutters when he looks at me. And I definitely don’t give a damn about his panty-melting Aussie accent. Nope. Don’t care. Especially since it’s clear how much he loves getting under my skin.

Except, even when he riles me up, Wes is infuriatingly charismatic. Thoughtful. Attentive. All the things my ex wasn’t. No matter how much I want to believe his flirting is genuine, I’m not stupid. Let’s be real, he’s way out of my league, and I’ll be an afterthought as soon as this vacation is over.

When Mother Nature steps in, Wes and I quickly discover why Alaska is nicknamed the Last Frontier.

Now I have no choice but to trust him.
