Summary
The acclaimed national bestseller that is “old-school horror at its best” (Stephen King) follows a scout troop as it is unexpectedly caught up in an isolating and utterly terrifying fight for their lives.

Once every year, Scoutmaster Tim Riggs leads a troop of boys into the Canadian wilderness for a weekend camping trip—a tradition as comforting and reliable as a good ghost story around a roaring bonfire. But when an unexpected intruder stumbles upon their campsite—shockingly thin, disturbingly pale, and voraciously hungry—Tim and the boys are exposed to something far more frightening than any tale of terror. The human carrier of a bioengineered nightmare. A horror that spreads faster than fear. A harrowing struggle for survival with no escape from the elements, the infected…or one another.

Best book I've read in a while, I thought it may be cheesy when I first started it but I quickly found myself eager to get back to it!!

What a great read! The storyline started off great with the background on each troop member. The story was stomach turning in many spots and disgusting in others (just what I like!!) I even shed a tear at the end!! The narrator was AWESOME!! He did such a great job! This story was read at perfect speed with pauses in the right places!! I’ll listen to this book again!

I loved every minute of this book. Extremely well written. The characters were well developed and the author made you feel every emotion, from sadness to anger, to joy. The narration was spot on and did a wonderful job of bringing these characters to life. I highly recommend this book.

I wouldn’t trust anyone that says this is the best book they have read. It’s so slow. It tells you to much back story of the kids and not enough of the focus of what is actually happening.

Great story! Definitely hard to listen to at times. If you can’t handle body horror, steer clear.

Loved this book, but it was gross. Definitely had to stop eating while listening. Most descriptive book I’ve ever read. I could visualize the horror. Yikes, it was creepy.
