Summary
Jack Ryan, Jr.’s race to stop an international criminal conspiracy is intertwined with the fate of an old friend in this blistering entry in the #1 New York Times bestselling series.

The CIA's deepest secrets are being given away for a larger agenda that will undermine the entire Western intelligence community. Director of National Intelligence Mary Pat Foley wants it stopped but doesn't know who, how or why.

Jack Ryan, Jr., is dispatched to Poland on a different mission. The clues are thin, and the sketchy trail dead ends in a harrowing fight from which he barely escapes with his life.

If that's not bad enough, Jack gets more tragic news. An old friend, who's dying from cancer, has one final request for Jack. It seems simple enough, but before it's done, Jack will find himself alone, his life hanging by a thread. If he survives, he'll be one step closer to finding the shadowy figure behind the CIA leak and its true purpose, but in the process, he'll challenge the world's most dangerous criminal syndicate with devastating consequences.

Great Story

Started strongly but fizzled... I’ve not been too sure about the new Tom Clancy books after he passed on but keep on coming back hoping the magic will be rekindled. In this book, I was quite excited with the complex and focused character development on the non-canon core characters, which drew me in well. However the second half of the book seemed rushed and there away the buildup of the first half. It is another very Jack-junior centric book (not the campus) with a scarcely believable turn of events not once but twice. I must admit I finished the book and felt I wanted to to back and read Teeth of the tiger again to see if I’m being unfair on the new author. I’m not. Overall, I’m disappointed as I have been and am expecting more from this series. There is precious little ‘new’ by way of concept of military technology that the Tom Clancy originals were so good at teaching us about. The story is basic at best. Narration is superb however!

Junior has had so many hits to the head that it is a wonder that he can think.

I've enjoyed Maden's stories but this one wasn't as clean & crisp as other stories I've read. Foul language was far more prevalent in this story, & that takes away a lot of the enjoyment for me. He's used it more & more with each story. I probably won't read another story of his.

Another great book in the Ryan series. Scott Brick brings all of the characters to life. I can’t get enough of the two Ryan’s adventures.
