Unabridged Audiobook
I am glad that I thought of this book again. I read it a long time ago and now, I wanted to listen to it. This book is descriptive, fun, and real and I can relate to this story because I lived in the South Bronx of New York City and even though the area did not have many Dominicans, the Puerto Ricans had similar experiences, conversations, and relationships. I will read more of Diaz's books.
The writing is gorgeous.
This book sometimes made me laugh out loud. It's a story about a Dominican man who gets himself educated, gets a good job and even has serious relationships with attractive women, but has trouble keeping it in his pants if you know what I mean. Funny, crazy and sometimes sad.
If you like stories about men who denigrate women with foul language, you'll love this one.
