That Guy

This is THE BEST BOOK I’ve listened to in….well…almost forever!! I really don’t understand the negative comments on here. The heroine is delightful, and Kim Jones gives her really clever things to say. The hero is flawed and screws up sometimes-but it never spirals to heart wrenching angst that pulls sobs from the reader. ITS A ROMANTIC COMEDY-not a documentary. I, for one, get enough reality in my REAL life-so when I find a book that is laugh out loud funny, charming, and clever…I think it deserves all the accolades I can give it.

The writing is that of an average middle schooler. Not even a bad made for TV movie. Fantasy plot on how to get laid. It was a freebie and I overpaid. That’s a few hours wasted, glad I quit before it was done.

This was literally the best book I was laughing so hard at times!

The girl was a bit unhinged, clingy and delusional, but it was a really good read.

Just meh. There were some funny parts, but the author's weird obsession with vaginal trauma put me off. Also, Penelope can't seem to do anything without boosting her courage with alcohol. Rather than endearing, I found her to be a rude twit.

Love the characters. Little cheesy. Great story overall. There was a spot where the author re-read a section then a spot where it skipped forward a bit towards the end.

Female lead is the epitome of a ditsy female! Love her! I laughed out loud so many times!!! Not much of a story but very enjoyable on the humorous side.

It started out with a great outrageous meet cute, but I couldn't get over the immaturity of the heroine. She is not the girl I ever wanted to get "that guy", she's silly, annoying and an over inflated ego.It was cliché especially with how "big" his was

I listen to so many books, I rarely give a 5 star. Admittedly rhe beginning of this book is-ya right. But a few chapters in you are hooked. It's so cute and funny...quite funny through out! Highly recommend and the narrators are great!

Sometimes…ridiculous is just what you need. This was very funny while being sexy. I was a little tired of the absolute immaturity of the heroine toward the end, but it did keep true to her fantasy way of thinking. I would have liked dual narration rather than drawing me in with the listing of Aaron Sherlock as a narrator and only getting one chapter from Cam’s perspective.

Hilarious wonderful and fun. Well worth your time. Will definitely be a great time for you to listen and laugh. I will listen again

Loved it! Funny, sexy and sweet

This has to have been written by a teen just entering puberty. The writing and characters are so trite, two dimensional, and badly written. The heroine of the story, Penelope, is vapid. Nothing about this story is original, follows every tired trope in the book. Have we not had enough of a stupid, weak minded woman that needs rescuing by some emotionally unavailable absurdly wealthy male? The worst part is that this fluff wasn't even funny or remotely entertaining. I just wanted to gag. Could not finish it. Narrator's voice was grating.

Funny and great ending

The book started well but after first fiew chapters it be came about nothing but badly written sex and odd dialog between the caracters. In the end I gave up. The Narrator was good.

This was a ok listen, I thought it was going in the 50 shades theme, but it didn’t. The narrator did throw me off when she spoke in the mans tone. I love the detail in describing the scenes.

Narrator was so expressive and utterly hilarious can’t wait for the next book in the series.

Easy read and good story. It would have been 60-90 minutes shorter if there wasn’t so many “F” bombs. The narrator did a good job on the female voices and nailed the main characters humor. The male voices should have been done by the male narrator at then end of the book.

Narrator was very good and the right voice for the main character. The story was nothing new, but it was funny in parts. Wish there was less bad language, but I still enjoyed it.

Cross between “pretty woman” and “50 shades of gray” but with a humorous twist. Definitely rate R but Very easy listen and great narration!

I loved listening to this book!! It’s hilarious and I could totally relate to the main character, Penelope. I would have totally made the same choices and been just as difficult!!! And I would love to see this as a movie or series!

liked the storyline a lot but the leading lady could annoy me from time to time. overall a fun book to listen to!

What a funny, laughable book. The narrator was great!

This book is very entertaining and funny, a bit cliche too: a teenage story of a poor village girl who falls in love with a rich tall man and they live happily ever after!

A great romantic book to listen to with Comedy and sexual content.

Lots of laughs. Good book

I loved this book! I couldn't stop laughing at this woman who thought and did the most outrageous things... If you love romance and great humour this is a perfect book.
