"WHAT CAN I CONFESS? I'M ASHLAR. I'M A TALTOS.
It's centuries since I've seen one single other member of my own species. Oh, there have been others. I've heard of them, chased after them, and in some instances almost found them. Mark, I say almost. But not in centuries have I touched my own flesh and blood, as humans are so fond of saying. Never in all this time....[pg. 64]
When Ashlar learns that another Taltos has been seen, he is suddenly propelled into the haunting world of the Mayfair family, the New Orleans dynasty of witches forever besieged by ghosts, spirits, and their own dizzying powers. For Ashlar knows this powerful clan is intimately linked to the heritage of the Taltos.
In a swirling universe filled with death and life, corruption and innocence, this mesmerizing novel takes us on a wondrous journey back through the centuries to a civilization half-human, of wholly mysterious origin, at odds with mortality and immortality, justice and guilt. It is an enchanted, hypnotic world that could only come from the imagination of Anne Rice . . .

You Holy Cow, what a book. All 3 books, the whole story was fantastic. I watched the tv series, it was really good. But, other than the fact that only 3 to 5 people had the same name as the people in the book. The two had nothing in common. They cut Michael totally out. Oh well, poo happens.

The 3rd book of one of my favorite series, I've had to replace my hard copies several times because I read then so much.

I had previously read each of these books years ago the tragic part of it was I was always in a drunken stupor listening to these after being sober for 5 years what a treat and so much I missed or could not comprehend

This book was stupid. Rowan is stupid. Anne rice is a pervert. There is so much in the book that is completely unnecessary and stupid. The weird milk fetish and the pedophilia are just ridiculous. If you judged Rowan and Mike by what they actually do then they are terrible people. By the end of the book I was hoping they would die. I liked the other books of this series. But it is like Anne rice finished this book. Then went back over it to make more sexy. But just ended up making it really weird and inappropriate. It was almost painful to hear Rowan and Mike talk because they were so painfully meaningless and unbelievable. But the narrator was great. Love her.

I loved this book. The narrator was wonderful. While listening to this audiobook it was like there was a movie playing in front of me.
