The Storm Sister

Unabridged Audiobook

Date: November 2015

Duration: 21 hours 30 minutes

Ally D'Aplièse is about to compete in one of the world's most perilous yacht races, when she hears the news of her father's mysterious death. Rushing back to meet her five sisters at their family home, she discovers that her father - an elusive billionaire - has left each of them a clue to their true heritage. With her life now turned upside down, Ally decides to follow the trail that her father left her, leading her to the icy beauty of Norway. There, Ally begins to discover her roots - and how her story is inextricably bound to that of a young unknown singer, Anna Landvik, who lived there over a hundred years before. As Ally learns more about Anna, she also begins to question who her father really was.

"The Storm Sister is like a literary musical score - crashing waves, staccato heartstopping moments and a crescendo waiting in the wings." THE BOOK TRAIL

It was okay but didn't keep my attention as much as the first in the series. I kept realizing I'd not been paying attention and had to go back to re-listen. Also, because the heroines (in the two books I've listened to so far) are always beautiful beyond belief, possess incredible talents beyond belief, and never seem to realize they're pregnant, it gets a bit predictable and tedious. Not sure if I'll continue with this series.

I did not enjoy the “book” inside the book. I ended up skipping most of that story and went straight to Ally’s part.

Loved every minute of this book..

  • Chasi D.

I had a hard time with the narrator, at first, because I was so used to the first one in the series but it makes sense to have a different one for each sister so their voices don't match. I guess, though, when you listen to them back to back, it's weird to hear the same sister read by 2 different voices. Other than that, this was one of my favorite out of the series.

I love the seven sisters stories. Great narrators and great story lines. Looking forward to the other books in the series.

This story did not disappoint. I couldnt stop listening. I cant wait to find out how each sister's story unfolds.
