Abridged Audiobook

Twenty-one years after the Battle of Endor, the New Republic will face an even darker enemy. . . .

More than two decades after the heroes of the Rebel Alliance destroyed the Death Star and broke the power of the Emperor, the New Republic has struggled to maintain peace and prosperity among the peoples of the galaxy. But unrest has begun to spread and threatens to destroy the Republic’s tenuous reign.

Into this volatile atmosphere comes Nom Anor, a charismatic firebrand who heats passions to the boiling point, sowing seeds of dissent for his own dark motives. And as the Jedi and the Republic focus on internal struggles, a new threat surfaces from beyond the farthest reaches of the Outer Rim—an enemy bearing weapons and technology unlike anything New Republic scientists have ever seen.

Suddenly, Luke Skywalker; his wife, Mara; Han Solo; Leia Organa Solo; and Chewbacca—along with the Solo children—are thrust again into battle, to defend the freedom so many have fought and died for. But this time, the power of the Force itself may not be enough. . . .

The book is excellent. Why ruin it with an abridgment? You can't just hack and whack your way through the story, cutting out 70% of it and think that the reader will come away with a sense of appreciation.

Love the story. The narrator sucks!

I guess you should start at book one however I wasn't thrilled about Appthis Instalment. It was a decent listen but I think the abridged version really ruined it. I've never read that version however, I heard the story was great and I thought it was just OK. Maybe it was built up to be more than it was in my eyes and an intro to a new, long villain arc that I wasn't impressed with accompanied by the unexpected death of an ally that was incredibly strange and I didn't believe but it stuck. It made no sense to me having read many of these stories it was probably one of the worst rather unneed twists that come to mind right off the top of my head. Maybe..I'd be willing to try this book again unabridged. May the Force guide you and your choices (Hopefully to the unabridged version)

Sadly the Narrator is ruining the experience. But still worth to listen to if you are going to listen to the whole storyline across all the books.
