Summary
He was the most powerful Sith lord who ever lived.
But could he be the only one who never died?

“Did you ever hear the Tragedy of Darth Plagueis the Wise? It’s a Sith legend. Darth Plagueis was a Dark Lord of the Sith, so powerful and so wise that he could use the Force to influence the midi-chlorians to create life. He had such a knowledge of the dark side that he could even keep the ones he cared about from dying.”
—Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith

Darth Plagueis: one of the most brilliant Sith Lords who ever lived. Possessing power is all he desires. Losing it is the only thing he fears. As an apprentice, he embraces the ruthless ways of the Sith. And when the time is right, he destroys his Master—but vows never to suffer the same fate. For like no other disciple of the dark side, Darth Plagueis learns to command the ultimate power . . . over life and death.

Darth Sidious: Plagueis’s chosen apprentice. Under the guidance of his Master, he secretly studies the ways of the Sith, while publicly rising to power in the galactic government, first as Senator, then as Chancellor, and eventually as Emperor.

Darth Plagueis and Darth Sidious, Master and acolyte, target the galaxy for domination—and the Jedi Order for annihilation. But can they defy the merciless Sith tradition? Or will the desire of one to rule supreme, and the dream of the other to live forever, sow the seeds of their destruction?

one of the greatest books of the former EU. Disney have failed the franchise.

This book is by far one of my favorite Star Wars books. Star Wars episode one was not that great in my opinion, however this book kind of gives you and idea of the behind the scenes machinations.

This would make for a better movie than rebel one. The story and narrator are impeccable. I've listened to it twice and I'm on my third now. This is a must read for Star wars fans. Darth Plagueis is a evil genius Mastermind that gives rise to sidious without him figuring it out. Together, they set forth and implement one of the best stories ever told. There could not have been a better narrator. I highly recommend it.

This book was the first audiobook I had ever listened to' I've gone on to listen to six more star wars books. this book is still overall the best one I feel. however the Darth Bane trilogy is ridiculously good and as it's a trilogy it's a good one to get into the story has a way of getting you hooked in. they talk about Darth Bane in the Darth Plagueis book quiet alot so it's a good one to follow it up with and learn how the rule of two was created and plus Darth Bane was a badass. if you liked this book the you will like Darth Bane.

there should be more books narrated by this narrator! I think he is the best! does anyone know what other books he has done?

Book is a little dark for my taste, and not quite family friendly for a car ride, but it is well done. My main issue is with the narration, or the obvious lack of familiarity with Star Wars from the narrator. I like the narrator for the most part, but pronouncing names consistently wrong that are clearly pronounced in the movies (sifo-dyas for example), and also giving Sidious the same friendly tone as Palpatine is quite strange and off putting to hear, and a very large oversight that speaks to the lack of familiarity with the universe. In opposition, the author knows his stuff and clearly knows his lore. A very refreshing thing after some of the more recent Disney books.

I love this story. It gives so much of a perspective of the events of Episodes 1, 2, and 3. I recommend this book to ANYONE that likes the Star Wars universe. Plagueis is an adventure that will make you appreciate the seduction of Palpatine on Anakin all the more, and explaining why the Republic, in some ways, deserved to fall to the Empire. Outside of insight to the story we know as fans, it allows us to love all the things we did not. This is Star Wars at its best. I cannot recommend this be listened to or read more than I already do.

One of the better Audiobooks from StarWars legends material. It gives you really the idea that you are in a StarWars movie. Perfect narrator, I give it a five star rating!

The narrator is very suiting for this book. He can voice act Palpatine and Dooku very well. Even Plagueis himself was good. What maked the atmosphere of the book are the sound effects during action sequences and the original score from John Williams.

(Translate it from Swedish) Ett MÅSTE för ALLA RIKTIGA Strar Wars Nördar! Helt sinnes sjukt bra !

This is my first audiobook and I have to say it has been amazing! Absolutely loved Star Wars: Darth Plagueis. I'm a huge fan of the Star Wars universe, this story goes into great detail of the universe and the time in which it is set in. There has been a lot of work put into this story and the sound scape. The narrating was brilliant too, the perfect voice for Sith Lords. I truly hope at least some of this story can become cannon one day. A masterpiece in my mind. I feel like this story has really helped me piece together and make more sense of and appreciate the prequel episodes and the Sith lore. I didn't want it to end.

An excellent book. Very well written, expanding that which is the force and the universe of star wars, giving us a peek behind the curtain of the past and displaying before us an excellent story of a sith and apprentice. the narrator excellently portrays Darth Sidious and his master, Plagueis. Easy to understand, but giving a sense of mystery and added suspense.

This is my second audiobook and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Set in the years running up to the events of Episode I, it tells more of the tale of the rise of Palpatine and his eventual manipulation of the events leading to the end of the Old Republic. Filled with great characterizations and vivid descriptions, it was hard to stop listening when I had to do other things. The narration by Daniel Davis (aka Niles the Butler from the Nanny and Moriarty from Star Trek TNG) as superb. His vocal skills and theater training shine through.
