Jonathan Davis was great as usual. The novel was sub-par. It often felt like it was simply trying to tie in as many references to other Star Wars stories as it could. In the end the story doesn't stand out in its own right.
I really enjoy exploring the early Anakin Jedi Knight years before the war started opening him up to the dark sides choices more and more. Very good story also highlighting the master apprentice bond Obi Wan had with him and his own processing of their growth together. Very good story.
I don\'t know what\'s going on with the Star Wars books, but they\'re getting worse and worse. 1) I salute Jonathan Davis (a complete professional)..but you can\'t fix a car without a car to start with. Bad story and bad writing..The characters were good (Ventress, Obi-Wan, Anakin, etc)..But this \"author\" doesn\'t know how to set a scene, write a story, and I DOUBT that this gentleman has ANY Star Wars knowledge at all..(it reminds me of the idiot that said that Omega Supreme \"Transformers\" was Vector Sigma)..I haven\'t enjoyed the last few books that Random House had been putting out..EXECPT THE THRAWN SERIES..(I actually enjoyed those)..if you need Jonathan\'s voice to put you to sleep, wait for YouTube to put this up for free..other than that? TERRIBLE..(and I blame the author..not Jonathan Davis).
