It read like two books. Then it became clear to me how the people's lives were intertwined. Even before the family crises, Jasmine was not pleasant. She spoke with her friend, who was her elder, with such disrespect even before her little girl went missing. Alexis, In her attempt to appear strong it made her seem indecisive and unyielding. I really felt so sorry for Hosea. Of all of the characters I liked him best. This book had so many triggers for me. I guess that is what made it a good read. Lastly, I felt like Mary Francis knew more about what happened to Jasmine's daughter.
