Unabridged Audiobook
Another great addition to this series. This book got into some darker topics and brought them to light in a healthy ( I would say non triggering) way. By the end of the book, not only did we have a great story from our characters, we also had a healthy path forward from this situation. I would not call this a dark romance, but anyone that is sensitive to domestic abuse/gaslighting should tread carefully. This was thoughtfully and carefully written, but always do what is best for you! For the characters, I loved finally getting Archers story!! It was nothing like what I expected and shows his growth as a character, even before this series started. And Cecilia showed her strength time and time again, even if it wasn’t in ways that people always saw right away. I love the depth of this story, and the touch in reality while still keeping us swept up in the Mageriverse.
I love all of her books, and she uses my favorite narrator. This was another great one.
I want to start by saying that I love this author, but that being said this book was slow. I didn't take this book as a book about abuse. Compared to her other books that are more exciting this book was boring.
I love Dannika Dark's books, and this one is another great one. Do be aware of the possible trigger of an abusive & gaslighting relationship, but I think it was done well. It showed also showed how subtle and gradual it can develop. I love the way the character developed and how healthy friendships can help turn things around. I'm not a huge fan of Nicole Poole, but that doesn't get in the way of enjoy the audiobook and the story.
