Summary
Emily is about to take some risks and have the most unexpected summer ever in this new novel from the bestselling author of 'Second Chance Summer 'and 'Amy and Roger's Epic Detour.' Before Sloane, Emily didn't go to parties, she barely talked to guys, and she didn't do anything crazy. Enter Sloane, social tornado and the best kind of best friend--someone who yanks you out of your shell. But right before what should have been an epic summer, Sloane just...disappears. No note. No calls. No texts. No Sloane. There's just a random to-do list with thirteen bizarre tasks that Emily would never try. But what if they can lead her to Sloane? 'Apple picking at night?' Okay, easy enough. 'Dance until dawn?' Sure. Why not? 'Kiss a stranger?' Wait...what? Getting through Sloane's list will mean a lot of firsts, and with a whole summer ahead of her--and with the unexpected help of the handsome Frank Porter--who knows what she'll find. 'Go Skinny Dipping?' Um...

Why haven't I read this sooner??!! Also, today I'm thankful for audiobooks because I commute to school about an hour back and forth every day and because of this I was able to finish this book by listening to it in three days!! No, but seriously, this is hands down one of my favorite Morgan Matson books now!! I tried reading it about a year ago and just couldn't get into it. It annoyed me knowing that Sloane just up and left Emily so I never made it further than like the first chapter. Listening on audiobook helped me get passed it though forcing me to listen and I'm so glad I did!! Morgan Matson always writes some of my favorite boy characters i.e. Clark!!! WE STAN!! And Frank was no exception! (It is always the boys that I remember from any book I read...what does that say about me? Like literally whenever I think back to a book that I read I can always remember the boy's name and never remember the girl's name...oops) Anywayyyy as much as I did absolutely love Frank (I found myself constantly saying f***ing Frank but like in the best way possible! haha love him!!) I really enjoyed Emily as the main character as well! She didn't have that annoyingness about her that most YA lead female characters tend to have which I appreciated. I also saw myself in her a lot which always helps me when I'm reading. Overall I absolutely adored this book and def recommend it to others to read! If you love Morgan Matson's books (I cannot wait for MM6!!!) and haven't read this one yet for some reason definitely give it a go!! Four MM books down only one more to go (until MM6 comes out!!!)!!!!

The plot was a bit slow at times for my liking however it did get much better towards the end and the narrator was good

I kept waiting for a twist but it was a story and a tad sugar coated. life as a teenager is hard and this was too sugar coated. loved the narrator though

This is a story about a young woman discovering the strengths she holds within and a friend who brought them out. True friendship and first real love.

The first chapter was slow. But do not let that discourage you from continuing.
