Unabridged Audiobook
Slow to get going but had me hooked by the end of the first quarter. Gripping, thrilling, and romantic. The narrators voice was difficult to get used to, she has an odd pausing cadence, but I soon got used to it and the story was exciting enough to distract from it.
This was an exciting novel to listen to, albeit a farfetched romance. It was adventurous, thrilling and gritty, yet well balanced with beautiful descriptions and sprinkled with moments of typical 'romance novel' tenderness. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to understand it either, so it makes for an easy read on long car trips. However, this novel was totally ruined by the irritating voice and peculiar cadence of the reader, who made the heroine sound like an annoying, insolent brat and every man sound like he was half drugged. I would get the series, however I cannot possibly sit through the readers voice again
