Unabridged Audiobook
What a fabulously written novel and I still continue to think about it a year later!
This is my first ever KA Tucker book and I loved it! I've heard so much about this author and this series, so I'm beyond happy I jumped on the bandwagon. I will for sure catch up with the rest of this series. I just finished the audio for this book and it made me love this story even more!
Okay let’s hear it for the Marie redemption arc
Ever since I found out about this audiobook, I immediately wanted to listen to it! Having picked up Ms.Tucker's work many times over the years, I've been meaning to get into her audiobooks for some time now. I was so happy that I got to do so with Running Wild! This listen pulled me in quickly. I really enjoyed it so very much! Having listened to Callie Dalton's narration many times before I could not contain my excitement when I found out that she was narrating Running Wild! Right from the start, Callie had my undivided attention with her narration! From the heartbreak, to figuring out things, the longing, the dedication, the setting, the tough, the hope, and every bit in-between, I loved the way Callie captured it all throughout Marie and Tyler's journey with her narrating. She had me feeling it all and then some all throughout listening! Callie was utterly fantastic! Marie and Tyler's journey quickly pulled my heart and I right in! Marie is a veterinarian and Tyler is a competitive musher. These two don't exactly hit it off after they are brought into each other's lives to put it mildly. As the Iditarod Sled Dog Race brings them right back to each other, is there more to be uncovered between them? And can Marie and Tyler find a way to take a chance and open their hearts? Oh my heart! Did Marie and Tyler ever have me feeling all the feels! I was so glad that I got to dig deeper with these two. I saw so much of myself in Marie, especially when It came to things she wanted in her life as well as matters of the heart. I related to her so very much. I was curious about Tyler as well and really liked getting to peel back more from him. Both Marie and Tyler got right into my heart and had me going through all kinds of emotions while listening. These two had been through their own things in their lives which brought even more realness to this listen for me. Both Marie and Tyler had such dedication to their passions which I thoroughly enjoyed. It isn't easy for them and that added to the humanness in which shined from Marie and Tyler. From the Alaskan setting that I could picture so vividly while listening to the characters that had me feeling so much from beginning to end, I really enjoyed this audiobook so very much! With Running Wild, Ms.Tucker has created a great and one of a kind journey that showed in refreshing ways what it means to be human and to have hope! I can always count on this author's words to get me right in the chest and make me feel every bit which is exactly what happened with this audiobook! From the story to Callie's narration, This is one audiobook I didn't want to turn away from. I can't wait to dive into more of Ms.Tucker's audiobooks and listen to more of Callie's narration in the near future!
I love the KA Tucker's writing style, and I immediately fell into the Alaskan world of dog mushing! Marie, the local vet, is getting older and after a long time love of her best friend, realizes time is ticking away. Little does she realize that her time may be just around the corner. Tyler recently moved into town, the rookie dog musher and when a dog is brought into Marie's office, she is ready to tear his arms off! This dog is the epitome of poor care, and she is ready to let him know what she thinks. Until she meets him. And sparks fly. Our story begins at that point, a slow burn, a difficult past, a goal to win, family drama, you name it, Tucker brings it all together and let me fall into their story. From start to finish, I was captured, learning about the sport and enjoying the dogs! I love getting to know Marie's family along with the sibling drama, the family business and where the future may lead. The small town gossip, and the jealousy that builds between competitors also added a layer to the story. It's an amazing listen and with the incredible imagery, I could see myself right there with all of them, living in Alaska! Callie Dalton is a fantastic narrator, and with the many characters she has in this book is able to create a world that is easy to enjoy. Going from male to female and giving each person their own voice is daunting, but she does it with ease, giving all the feels and a town that is packed with all kinds of personalities. I enjoyed her performance and am always excited when I see she is narrating!
I found this to be a really good listen. It was a little hard for me to get into in the beginning, but once the plot really started going I enjoyed it. It's very angsty and you really feel for both the FMC and MMC. I only wish there was a little more romantic interaction between them!
