Unabridged Audiobook
This book was a huge roller coaster ride of mixed feelings. It was a lot of back and forth between FMC and MMC with a lot of drama. Both characters have had some trauma they both have to get over to truly be get past the barriers. Rex was really aggravating and contradicted himself A LOT! Literally just wanted to shake his shoulders and tell him to get his head on straight. I did like how strong Harper tried to be through everything but she did act a little immature when dealing with certain topics throughout the book. Kingsley Rose
This was my first book by S.K. Allison. The story follows Rex, a singer in a popular band, who is looking for a nanny for his daughter. Enter Harper, an experienced nanny who struggles to adhere to Rex's strict rules but works hard to form a connection with his daughter. Despite a strong attraction between them, both Harper and Rex hesitate to act on it because of his daughter. While I could feel the tension between the two, I felt that the relationship lacked a gradual build-up. It seemed to go from one extreme to the next, with intense highs followed by sudden lows, without much in-between. Despite Rex’s desire to do what’s best for his daughter, there was very little interaction between them, and at times, it felt like something was missing. When Rex’s past comes into play, it becomes a bit confusing as the storyline felt somewhat disjointed. The developments surrounding his past left some unanswered questions, and without giving too much away, there were aspects that felt unresolved by the end. Overall, while the story had potential, certain pieces didn’t quite come together as expected. On a positive note, the audiobook was very well done. Narrators James McAdams and Kingsley Rose both did an excellent job bringing the characters to life.
(Audio) The book was beautiful. The age gap, the nanny/single dad, the grumpy sunshine, everything was cute. But if you’re going into think expecting rockstar, don’t. He literally could have had any other job
