Summary
The story of the celebrated rapper and the iconic Wu-Tang Clan, told by one of its founding members

Dennis Coles—aka Ghostface Killah—is a cofounder of the Wu-Tang Clan, a legendary hip-hop group that established itself by breaking all the rules, taking their music to the streets during the genre's golden era on a decade-long wave of releasing anthem after classic anthem, and serving as the foundation of modern hip-hop.

Rise of a Killah is Ghost’s autobiography, focusing on the people, places and events that mean the most to him as he enters his fourth decade writing and performing. It’s a beautiful and intense book, going back to the creative ferment that led to Ghost’s first handwritten rhymes. Dive into Ghost’s defining personal moments, his battles with his personal demons, his journey to Africa, his religious viewpoints, his childhood in Staten Island, and his commitment to his family (including his two brothers with muscular dystrophy), from the Clan’s early successes to the pinnacle of Ghost’s career touring and spreading his wings as a solo artist, fashion icon, and trendsetter.

Rise of a Killah gives a “real feel” narrative of Ghost’s life as he sees it, a one of a kind holy grail for Wu-Tang and Ghost fans alike.

A Macmillan Audio production from St. Martin’s Press.

Umm..this is an interesting read..Ghost has ALWAYS been a Brother who wears his emotions on his sleeve..(nothing PHONEY about him)..I can relate to being on welfare as a child..(even as an early teenager)..he talked about how he came up with 2 younger brothers with Muscular Distrophy..he really talked IN DETAIL about his conversion to Al-Islam..he mentioned the pillars of the faith..he also talked about the different levels of Heaven and Hell..from listening to this??..you can also tell that Ghost isn't telling people EVERYTHING about himself..LOL..he DOES tell MOST things though..Oh!!?? and he also mentioned that NOBODY IN THE CLAN should be mad at The RZA..(no matter what)..Rae was mad at Devine, RZA, and Power..Ghost said nothing about Devine and Power..but back to the book..I think this book isn't better than Rae's..but it's a lot better than U-God's..(U-God be lying all through his book)..LOL..I think that Ghost should've let people in his world a little more..Religion is a good thing..but we want to know more about YOU..he also talked about his albums..lastly??!! he brought along 2 people to speak on his behalf..1) a guy that grew up with Ghost in Stapleton..and 2) a guy who EVENTUALLY became Ghost's manager..LET ME SAY THIS!!..there's a YouTube video talking about Ghost beating up Busta Rhymes..THIS IS A LIE!!..Ghost's manager said that there was a fight between Flip Mode and Theodore Unit..NO ONE SAID ANYTHING ABOUT GHOST AND BUSTA FIGHTING!!..that's all that I have to say..it's a solid book..but I think that Ghost should've let people into his world..(not just his mind)..Thank you all for reading my review..Peace..
