Summary
At exactly 7:30 p.m., Walter Pettibone arrived home to over a hundred friends and family shouting, 'surprise!' It was his birthday. Although he had known about the planned event for weeks, the real surprise was yet to come. At 8:45 p.m., a woman with emerald eyes and red hair handed him a glass of champagne. One sip of birthday bubbly, and he was dead.

The woman's name is Julie Dockport. No one at the party knew who she was. But Detective Eve Dallas remembers her all too well. Eve was personally responsible for her incarceration nearly ten years ago. And now, let out on good behavior, she still has nothing but bad intentions. It appears she wants to meet Dallas again - in a reunion neither will forget...

I love this series. Eve and Rourke are the ULT!

JD Robb - really explicit at a mature level and very humorous - you feel like part of the family with Eve and Roarke - and who doesn't love Peabody the sidekick!

J.D. Robb has another winner in this one. I couldn't stop listening until finished !

While I love all the "In Death" books, this was my least favourite to listen to. Not that I didn't like the story line, but the narrator who is usually so great at doing the different voices, chose not to on this one. It took away from my enjoyment because she is so good at the voices that I always know who is speaking, and during this one I had to work to figure it out.

Love the in death series, but this one is one of the best! Lots of character building and background story, not just a straight crime novel. Definitely in the top 5 of the whole series

Fantastic! Suggest you read in order. The writer brings up some things from old cases. Narrator is amazing.

This was my first "futuristic" book and I now know that this genre is not at all for me. I kept listening to see if I could and though I finished it, it was quite a struggle. The characters were not engaging and the story was boring. Try another one.
