Unabridged Audiobook
Surprisingly enjoyable listen! The author did a very good job with the narration of his work. I had expected to zone out to a majority of this, but I was actually quite engaged in the whole book. As both a cyclist and someone with depression and anxiety, I could relate to a lot of the emotions and tribulations he portrayed throughout the process. Although much of the inner dialogue initially comes off as whiny, I appreciated his vulnerability in laying out his less charitable self. I think we all can find ourselves thinking things in our weaker moments that I know I would have a very hard time admitting to openly. It was also eye opening seeing all the background work involved in a feat like this, even beyond the level he was performing and pushing the human body. I will not dismiss the challenges of supported effort so flippantly again!
