Unabridged Audiobook
It was like reading three different books…. Interesting and very detailed, which was both good and bad. Most of this memoir was about a middle aged women, although she WAS always learning snd open to new avenues especially in academia and collaborative projects.
I have learned so much from listening to this book...about the challenges of being a woman or any underrepresented person in the sciences, about those same challenges in the rest of life and so many careers, about leadership. And through it all, Lindy Elkins-Tanton maintains an optimistic, beautiful attitude. She blazes a glowing trail in so many ways! Lisa Flanagan is perfectly expressive and believable as the voice of this amazing woman. She strikes a perfect balance between nonfiction informational when needed, and conveying the emotion contained in a well-written memoir. I often forgot it was not Lindy herself doing the narration!
