Summary
Jean M. Auel’s enthralling Earth’s Children series has become a literary phenomenon, beloved by readers around the world. In a brilliant novel as vividly authentic and entertaining as those that came before, Jean M. Auel returns us to the earliest days of humankind and to the captivating adventures of the courageous woman called Ayla. With her companion, Jondalar, Ayla sets out on her most dangerous and daring journey—away from the welcoming hearths of the Mammoth Hunters and into the unknown. Their odyssey spans a beautiful but sparsely populated and treacherous continent, the windswept grasslands of Ice Age Europe, casting the pair among strangers. Some will be intrigued by Ayla and Jondalar, with their many innovative skills, including the taming of wild horses and a wolf; others will avoid them, threatened by what they cannot understand; and some will threaten them. But Ayla, with no memory of her own people, and Jondalar, with a hunger to return to his, are impelled by their own deep drives to continue their trek across the spectacular heart of an unmapped world to find that place they can both call home.Fourth in the acclaimed Earth’s Children® series

I love the first three books. This book kept saying the same thing over and over and over and over. I read it anyway because I want to know what was gonna happen. But I was rolling my eyes and signs while I was reading, trying to get to the heart of it. I think she needed so many words to submit or something. The first books were amazing and wonderful.

So I read these books when I was in highschool and absolutely loved them. I dreamt of becoming a medicine woman, of collecting plants myself and healing rabbits… or wolves ! The truth is, it’s an excellent serie but it is really repetitive. I guess it’s perfect if your memory fails you and you listen to it sporadically but if you listen to all four books in a row, you’ll skip some parts. As the story develops and more things happen, more thing are repeated… this book was a bit uneventful but the descriptions of the landscape and the way of life back then was great. The whole story with the Losadunaï seemed a bit far-fetched but I guess something major needed to happen. Use your credit for this book. Because what comes next might disappoint you even more (trust me, I’m beginning the next book and it’s torture).

What an amazing story which I read when I was 12 years old now 44 years old I enjoy deeply the audiobook. All of earths children’s books are great I recommend starting with the first.

seemed like a lot of time was spent repeating, nearly verbatim, the preceding novel. Even the love making became redundant. It's a good thing I am a big fan of Aylah and the general story line but this book was disappointing in comparison to the previous novels. as much as I enjoy the historical aspect of herwriting, I hope the next book focuses more on the storyline and less on every species they come across.

The narrator needs to learn better pronunciation on words like megasaurus, etc. It's very frustrating when you need to try to figure out what she is actually needing to say versus what she really says.
