Unabridged Audiobook
This is the first book of Josie and Colton's story. This story was so interesting to me and not like anything I've read before. This is a second chance love story that will have you in disbelief with the cliffy at the end. I loved watching these two connect. They are so different than the kids that they were when they last knew each other. Josie was always a different kind of girl, so it was no surprise that she became a successful ME. This story will leave you intrigued and begging for book 2! The narrators did a great job bringing this story to life.
I like Jewel E. Ann's writing! This is the first book in The Life Duet, a romantic, psychological thriller. Colten is a single dad and a homicide detective. He is handsome, and protective. Josephine/Josie is a forensic pathologist, and medical examiner. She is smart, enigmatic, and strong. They are both interesting, and intriguing characters. I liked their push and pull relationship, and their banter. The story is told from both POV's, which is great. The back and forth between past to present is easy to follow. The storyline is fast-paced, engaging, and captivating. I liked the paranormal twist. As expected, the story ends with a cliffhanger, and I am looking forward to listening to Memories of a Life, the next book in the duet. Emery Erickson and Alastair Haynesbridge did an excellent job bringing this story life. #ValentinePR
Enjoyable! I didn’t realise this ends in a pretty big hook and the story wouldn’t be finished after the one book. 100% will read/listen to the second book about this mmc and fmc. Friends to lovers to strangers to lovers Our fmc has her heart broken. Struggled to let our mmc back in. 4 star listen, once again this author did a fab job one of the better stories with paranormal aspects of which I havnt read from her before.
This had all the makings of a great second chance romance. It definitely checks all the boxes but I did not expect the turn this story took!! I am pleasantly surprised by the depth of the plot. I was hooked from the prologue and thoroughly entertained throughout the rest of the book. Colten’s viewpoint as a younger boy/teen was a great way to showcase their earlier relationship and it was so funny and well written. I absolutely love Josie’s no nonsense view on her relationships and with Colten’s return to her life. The narration was so well done. I had no problem at all deciphering between the characters as adults and their younger selves. I could listen to them talk all day!! I’ll be diving into part two as soon as possible!!
Colton and Josie’s story was interesting for sure. They’ve been inseparable since a young age, but life through them a curveball leading them down different paths. Now over a decade later, life brings them back together. The chemistry and tension could definitely be felt throughout their story. That cliffhanger left me with so many questions. Emery Erickson and Alastair Haynesbridge did a really good job narrating all the characters. They portrayed Josie and Colton beautifully.

What a cliff hanger. I loved this story and they say the author showcased the past via the mail POV. It meshed him into the story about her life experiences and showing us their relationship as kids and adults.
