Summary
Seamlessly blending heart-pounding romance and breathless intrigue, New York Times bestselling author Linda Howard writes a masterful, stylish, and provocative suspense novel that absolutely defies readers to put it down.

Daisy Minor is bored. Worse than that, she's boring. A plain, small-town librarian, she's got a wardrobe as sexy as a dictionary and hasn't been on a date in years. She's never even had a lukewarm love affair, let alone a hot one. So when she wakes up on her thirty-fourth birthday, still living with her widowed mom and spinster aunt, she decides it's time to get a life.

But can a lifelong good girl turn bad? No, not exactly.

But she can pretend, right?

One makeover later, Daisy has transformed herself into a party girl extraordinaire. She's letting her hair down, dancing the night away at clubs, and laughing and flirting with men for the first time in, well, ever. With a new lease on her own place and her life, it's open season for man-hunting.

But on her way home late one night, Daisy sees something she's not supposed to see. Suddenly the target of a killer, she's forced to put her manhunt on hold. But the very moment she stops looking might be the moment she finds what she's wanted all along. Trouble is, before he can share her life, he might just have to save it.

The abridgement missed something. Not up to this author's standard even for an older title.

Good book. Great humor. The only problem is the abridged version is WAY TOO SHORT!! It takes away some of the joy of reading the book.

As usual, Linda Howard wrote a very enjoyable story. The plot was at times a bit contrived, but the characters were entertaining and the narrator did a great job.

I just loved this title. How could you not adore a main character so incredibly naive and old fashioned, a man way too good to be true or real and a great cast of characters? Well worth the listen.

Great book! It kept me smiling. I wholeheartedly recommend as a light suspense novel.

Good mystery, but the heroine is too naive to suit my taste. Fun to read/listen!!

I enjoy listen to Linda Howard. I'd like to see an unabridged version of this title out there.

I really enjoyed listening to this book. I wish there was an unabridged version out there. Along with the narrator, who does a great job by the way, the writing style of this one reminded me a lot of Karen Robards. "All the Queen's Men" was how I got turned on to Linda Howard, but these are very different books. It's great to see an author with such a dynamic writing style. Some authors stick with one style so much that their books become predictable. "Open Season" is very entertaining...you'll get drawn into the suspense of it...but you'll laugh too. Chuck it up to Great Aunt Bessie!

Cute, but certainly not one of Linda Howards best. Everything happens just a little too fast..

Linda Howard never stops amazing me with the way she tells a tale. I fall in love with each one of her characters and love to follow them through their adventures. Keep them coming.!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good story, enjoyable, not as much excitement as Linda Howard's Cry No More or Dying to Please, but a cute story.

This audiobook was quite funny. I don't usually listen to audiobooks that are so heavy on romance, but this one was good and certainly held my interest.
