Summary
From the New York Times bestselling author of Practice Makes Perfect and The Cheat Sheet comes an expanded edition of The Off-Limits Rule—a heartwarming romance about new love and fresh beginnings, with a never-before-seen chapter.

Rules are made to be broken—especially for love, right?

Lucy Marshall has hit rock bottom. After failing to succeed as a single mom in Atlanta, she’s back home and moving in with her older brother, Drew. Reconnecting with her support system is the right thing to do, but Lucy can’t help but feel like a failure. Her four-year-old son deserves the world, and all she can give him is a spare bedroom. But Drew is the sweetest uncle, and some quality time might be exactly what they both need to start fresh. That is until she meets Cooper, her brother’s incredibly hot best friend.

When Drew senses something between the two of them, he puts his foot down on any shenanigans. According to him, Cooper is everything Lucy should stay away from: flirtatious, adventurous, and especially noncommittal. But Lucy has been getting the opposite impression so far; Cooper is a genuinely great guy, and she’s starting to catch real feelings.

Her whole life, Lucy has tried to do everything right, and look where that’s gotten her—so what if she were to try something wrong?

This book!!!! I absolutely LOVED this book! I related a lot with the main character and girl best friend. The book is like a rom com and the chemistry between the two main characters *muah* absolutely off the chain! If you’re looking for a book that’s not to explicit this is a good read! I will say that the voice for the male narrator wasn’t my favorite. His voice was a little to old sounding but you get used to it after a while.

I decided to give this book a try and I'm glad I did! It was like one of those old Rom Com movies that you actually laugh out loud when you're watching. I found the funny embarrassing moments and Lucy's character to be relatable and hilarious. I normally prefer faith based historical fiction romance, so I was pleased that this book didn't go over the top with raunchy detailed sex scenes. I plan to look up more books by the author and to read the 2nd book in this series.

Had a great plot to capture your attention and was a great build up but failed to deliver partially because it was too rushed and undeveloped towards the end. Found Lucy’s character quite irritating at times too given we were referring about an almost 30 year old with a kid… it’s one thing to give quirkiness to a character, but it’s another to make it their entire personality.

So so boring! Literally nothing happened in the book besides the two characters falling in love. The author keep beating the same point and spinning the same situation around. I love rom coms and easy reads and this was pretty pathetic. The worst book I have read in ages

I didn't like the male narrator. He read the book i very monotonous.

Cute but very predictable. An easy listen, but definitely saw the stage being set for book 2 (which is an entirely different review to come-as I’m still listening to it). Don’t move too fast to purchase book 2.

Fun and easy listen but too predictable

The Off-Limits Rule is a fun and easy listen, perfect for commuting or winding down. That said, it was a bit too predictable and had some cheesy moments for me. If you’re into light, feel-good romance and don’t mind a few clichés, it could still be a good pick.

Loved the book. However one of the last chapters skips really bad.

Narrator sometimes difficult to discern between thought in their heads and spoken words Shallow but ok

Cute although there were some moments I found their choices rather unwise. They made a big deal about her brother finding them in the grocery store and him being angry. Then Cooper sneaks into her room that night...if Drew was that mad about seeing them at the store together why risk Drew finding Cooper in her bed that night? Seems rather stupid to me.

Good story overall but thought it was rushed towards the end. And didn’t like the way they portrayed the female lead as fairly incompetent

Had great potential. Don’t think I’ve ever heard the word ‘biceps’ so many times. Lol. I did enjoy the first half.
