Unabridged Audiobook
I've listened to it three times and I still think it's the best quietly in the library doorway the housekeeper had long since recovered from her shop
As usual, a fun Pendergast adventure. This is not fine literature, but I always enjoy the cast of characters, the action, the twists and turns, and in this genre I don't think you will do a lot better. I listen while I drive, and it keeps me well entertained. Well done again ! And, I like the narrators voice, he does a nice job too.
Great narration and a good story. I’m a little tired of what seems to be the same story told a different way but any Pendergast story I will listen too. I’m hooked
I enjoyed it very much. Leaves room for future adventures.
I'm a big fan of the series. This book was great although very fast paced for a Pendergast book. Not that I'm complaining as it was a pleasant change. *****SPOILERS BELOW****** The only flaw I can see with this book (spoiler alert) is that Diogenes' very carefully assembled identity as Peter was rumbled with incredible ease. Firstly I'm not so sure he would have used it in escaping the hospital (surely he would have known they would be looking for someone leaving who had not entered). Secondly if he was at all concerned about Flavia and the threat she posed then he certainly wouldn't have met her at a hotel roomed booked in the name of his most valuable identity. Overall I feel this book puts the series back on track after the last book, which was in my opinion the poorest in the series by a country mile.
This book brought the rest of the series together. I only fear the series will end. I have grown fond of all the characters through out this series. The story line, the places it took us too, the support characters, and even the villainous Diogenese all make for a great read.
The pace of the book was great with great locations and great writing. Pendergast is great as always. I love the development of Constance becoming more of an adult character. There are good twists and plot. It was a little confusing of the story line of Proctor as it seemed forced. The book Seemed to end too quick I want more. Narrator Rene great as always!
I've always loved the Pendergast series. However, I really want them to go back to the amazing cases that the agent originally had.
I always enjoy Child/Preston works. They always keep one wondering what will happen next. The narrator is magnificent which makes the characters really come to life. I can't wait to see what befalls our hero next.
