Unabridged Audiobook
This is a very informative book but there’s a particular reader whom should work on his intonation. JA
Enjoyable and informative book. Wish narration had been better.
The content of the book itself was very good. The narration could have been so much better. The female narrators wee fine especially the British one. The male voices kept making want to fast forward past the chapters. The way the chapters were re-introduced each time was also a bad take-a-way from the book.
The narrator was just ok. His voice is his voice and my opinion of it is just that. An opinion... His voice was a little too deep and heavy for me. I think I would've preferred a female voice or a softer voice. Maybe... I strongly disliked the way he kept reintroducing the book every chapter. It is off putting and takes away from the listening experience. I wonder if it is because it is a free book... Audible has free books but it doesn't do that...hmmm. I dont know but I appreciate the book though because it was interesting and I feel that I learned a lot of the life of Sojourner Truth. Disappointed in the overall performance but liked the story itself.
I’m in awe of the slave narrative. They give me strength to persevere.
Too many narrators. One particular male narrator was such a poor reader, I had to fast forward through the parts that he read. A good story but poorly narrated.
This would have been good except for the readers. There was too many readers for this book! It threw me off completely.
Very moving life story.
Love the Material but some of the readers were a little off
I had never known that slavery existed above the Mason-Dixon Line. It was a story of many twists and turns of horror as well of good heartedness. Just like life today I guess both sides always show their faces
