Unabridged Audiobook
Amazing that the author continued to add depth to the characters, and still keep you interested in the plot. Anxious to listen to the next one.
I am really enjoying this series; listening to book 3 now. This was another good listen. Story kept a good pace, characters were interesting and narration was great.
This was a good cozy mystery. I listened to the first in the series, as well, and really enjoyed the character development across the two books. The narrator does a great job, too.
I am really enjoying this series. Very light hearted—perfect for summer.
Another great listen from Jackie Baldwin. Story line and plot with lots of twists and turns.
It’s a strong follow up to the first book. Two plot lines are woven together pretty deftly and there are some pretty well conceived surprises. I had a fairly good idea of what was going to go down, but it took awhile with most of the plot twists and with most of them I wasn’t completely certain. The characters are believable, though the OCD quirk of one villain was not well tied into the character and reminded me too strongly of an episode of CSI: Los Vegas. Overall another satisfying mystery novel. I need to eat a little crow regarding the narrator. She still sounds a bit Irish to me, but apparently she is native to East Scotland, so there you are. Her voice suits the character, but lacks a little something that the really great narrators have. Two of the best narration performances have been the Harry Potter books and Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, that I’ve run across. I also enjoy the narration of the No. 44 Scotland St. books. (God Looks Down on Belgium-always makes me giggle)
The writing is good at building suspense and the characters are endearing. The eye rolls come when characters constantly put themselves in unnecessary danger. And the relationship between the main character and her husband is just frustrating and clearly designed to create drama that is not really believable.
