Summary
THE FIRST MERCY THOMPSON NOVEL!

Moon Called is the novel that introduced Patricia Briggs’s Mercy Thompson to the world and launched a #1 bestselling phenomenon...

Mercy Thompson is a shapeshifter, and while she was raised by werewolves, she can never be one of them, especially after the pack ran her off for having a forbidden love affair. So she’s turned her talent for fixing cars into a business and now runs a one-woman mechanic shop in the Tri-Cities area of Washington State.

But Mercy’s two worlds are colliding. A half-starved teenage boy arrives at her shop looking for work, only to reveal that he’s a newly changed werewolf—on the run and desperately trying to control his animal instincts. Mercy asks her neighbor Adam Hauptman, the Alpha of the local werewolf pack, for assistance.

But Mercy’s act of kindness has unexpected consequences that leave her no choice but to seek help from those she once considered family—the werewolves who abandoned her...

“In the increasingly crowded field of kick-ass supernatural heroines, Mercy stands out as one of the best.”—Locus

Well, I’m a dude. Spoilers kinda; This isn’t something I’d normally pick up, but the narrator caught my attention in the sample and I listened. It was interesting, with an endearing leading lady, a gripping enough plot, a fun horror/faerie tale setting in my home state, and excellent narration. The second book maintained these characteristics but quickly devolved into a Twilighty three-(four?)-way love story clone. If this is something you look for in a story, I highly recommend the series so far. Not sure I’ll continue, but I will be seeking out Lorelai King in the future.

The book was super entertaining and I can’t wait to read the rest of the series. My only thing is that sometimes the readers accents are kind of strange. Otherwise a great listen though and for the most part the reader does an excellent job.

Loved this book! I’m not normally into supernatural type stories, as most seem childish... not this one! Interesting and exciting in a modern day way that kept you reading/listening! Narration was dreamy. I would have given it 5 stars but found the ending a bit anti climactic .

I enjoyed this book and look forward to listening to the series. I also like the reader of this series as she does a good job with male voices as well as women. She sets the right tone for the books too.
