Now she's falling in love for the first time. Lydia, Dean, and Robyn live very different lives, but each of them, independently, has always felt that something was missing. What they don't know is that a letter is about to arrive that will turn their lives upside down. Beautifully observed and written. I generally like anything Lisa Jewell writes. It’s quality writing. However, for all of that, I didn’t feel engaged with any of the characters, except for one and that one disappeared from the story early on. Narration was average, but okay, though the accents kept slipping, which was an irritation.

This book started off VERY slow. I found I had to keep rewinding as the change in characters stories was hard to follow. The accents at the beginning of the book were awful to listen to. But as the book progressed the story really came together - but not until the last 2 hours of a 10 hour book. I did love how it came together at the end, but I came close to not finish it after 2-3 hours in.

When I first started this book, I did not think I would like it. It was an unusual storyline, and I loved the characters in it.

This book was not as good as others by the same author.

I loved this book…talk about delving into the nurture/nature aspects of life. We get a full spectrum of emotions and perspectives through Lisa’s writings in thus great novel. Read it, it will make you think and you will be better for its impact on your views. The world of doner and its impact is coming full circle as these diner children are coming of age, coupling and having children of their own. The perspectives shared here are heartwarming and insightful.

I loved it! I have recently become one of this authors biggest fans. This story was well written, characters are lovable, interesting from beginning until the end and once it ended I wanted more. I found some parts really pulling at my heart strings. Cannot forget the narrator, she did a really great job portraying each of the characters, it was like watching a movie with my minds eye. Now off to the next Lisa Jewell novel :)

Great job of weaving seemingly unrelated lives together.

I like the plot, but don't understand the authors need to overuse expletives.
