*******TRIGGER WARNING REGARDING THE BOOK: Contains topics of rape and a literal rape scene. I would just like to start this review by saying that I LOVE Contemporary Romance. That being said - I hated this book and would have preferred a root canal. If you love just-add-water romance, poor suspension of belief, and sloppy verbiage, then you should definitely give it a read. Just-add-water Romance: The romance in the book was difficult to stomach. I couldn't tell you why they're together past the fact that they're both beautiful and are supposed to be together per the author. I also don't know how they have this love grow so much, in about 2 months they're "each others homes and whole lives," which is just unrealistic for not having gone through anything together. Poor Suspension of Belief: What college kid is able to UNDERAGE get a job at a bar and is allowed to drink at work? After 2 months would your boss ever call you "munchkin" and kiss you on the forehead AND trust you with a key to the bar? What oldies band would know any Demi Lovato? Verbiage: There were times where it was super realistic, but it just sounds like someone came through with a thesaurus and switched some things up. The last thing, I promise (and this is just nit-picking and a personal belief), I'm not sure if anyone else is pulled out of the belief of the book by this (and I can normally ignore it pretty well since its a staple in Contemporary Romance), but the amount of Demi Lovato song drops was just dumb. I feel as though Contemporary writers do this to stroke their own egos in ways and is a really corny way to introduce some personal connection to the story with readers who enjoy the music included in the books. I'm typically not so... let's say "picky," about books, but I was literally begging for this one to be over a little over halfway through the book and finished it for the sake of not wasting my credit. It was really great during "the chase," aka before the couple was together and the 30-minute teaser blurb was awesome.

I enjoy mindless books usually, but this book had so many unrealistic scenarios that I found them too distracting. For example the phrase “The halls of Columbia” sounds ridiculous in ANY campus setting, and if the author had just read the course catalog, she would have been able to see for herself that no first year takes a class like “global economics” if they don’t want to. The other ridiculous scenario was her walking distance to classes apartment she had by herself, and the idea that she could afford it better with a 3 nights a week bartending job. 1. Her apartment is spacious enough to have a corridor, separate kitchen and bathroom, and had a balcony, doorman, and elevator, oh, and a space for her car. She is seriously making enough money bar tending to afford this??? 2. She’s underage! What kind of bar would hire an underage kid? Also - not sleeping multiple nights in a row consistently is extremely hazardous to health and I find it unrealistic that she can just rouse herself with a lot of coffee. Another humorous bungle - she keeps talking about a park that is large enough to have a private area. She runs 10 laps around it. Is she talking about Central Park? Because then she ran 60 miles.....

Love this love story! Great listen. You are definitely going to finish with the next book.

Such a great book. Did not expect the story to end this way. I really enjoyed the story.

One of the BEST books I have ever read. Before purchasing the audio I have read the book 3 times. I really enjoyed listening to it as well. I almost felt as though I was hearing the story for the first time. The narrator did such an amazing job putting such raw emotion into Celestes words. I can not wait to listen to Breathe You as well! Seriously LISTEN!!! You will not be disappointed.

Great narrators always make a good book even better. This is a story I can't wait to see how it ends. Worth reading more than once and you will pick up little bits you missed or didn't understand the significance of.

This is one of the worst books I have ever read. Couldn’t wait for it to be over. Obviously there’s another book, but I think I’ll pass.
