Summary
A lot can happen on a two-week trip to the Canadian wilderness.

Auden Harmon learns her parents’ marriage is officially over. Expected. Accidentally gifts a five-hundred-dollar pen to a stranger. Unexpected.

Neither event wreaks havoc on her life quite like meeting Elliot Reid does. He has eyes the color of the cloudy sky. A slapshot the whole country has an unhealthy obsession with. The uncanny ability to say the exact right thing, right when she needs to hear it.

They stay in touch after she leaves. Swap secrets. Become best friends. Tell each other everything.

Well . . . almost everything.

It’s a thin line between love and hate. The line between love and friendship with a guy who makes mammoth-sized butterflies swarm your stomach? Practically transparent. But when he’s made it clear friendship is all he has to offer?

You can never say it.

Narration: Easy listening and great dual narration Review: This friends to lovers, slow burn romance was the perfect escape. The author drew the reader right in and kept you glued from the will-they-won't-they tension of it all. It was so easy to fall for these characters, to root for them, to keep turning the pages and almost read it in one sitting. I just very much enjoyed it for what it was!

Audiobook review: narrated by James Cavenaugh and Kasey Hayes 4 stars for story / 5 stars for performance This is a best friends to lovers, coming of age story. I really liked the dynamic between Auden and Elliot. Their friendship was believable and throughout the story you really had a good grasp on the physical chemistry between the two, even before the relationship took a turn. The time jumps were appreciated, especially considering the age of the main characters when they meet. The book is broken up into summers, as that is the only time they are physical in the same place. Great story telling and character development, even though I would have liked a little insight into their long distance friendship in between. I was so impressed by these two narrators. Special kuddos to Kasey Hayes and the talent she showed in differentiating between multiple different masculine characters. Both these narrators were new to me and I will definitely be on the lookout for more of their performances.
