Unabridged Audiobook
This book is not for the faint hearted. It appears to revel in the more gruesome aspects, and I can't decide if the book is graphic, or the narrator is trying to shock. The plot is akin to many inferior TV dramas. Phrases are repeated in every chapter which again one associates with a TV drama when recaps are provided before each episode. You will guess the culprit halfway through, although in fairness some books deemed to be best sellers have a weaker plotline. The narrator produced some peculiar accents (Welsh accents for a Dutch doctor for instance but does succeed in making the protagonist dislikeable and therefore produces a degree of realism.
I found this thriller to be mediocre at best. The characters didn't have much depth and the plot is pretty old. The narrator has a problem, she reads somewhat quickly and then pauses for 2 or 3 seconds and then repeats this throughout the book, very irritating until one gets used to it.
