love the book
Great listen. I have already purchased book 2 of the series. I have been to some of the places in the story. This book took me back with realism and a smile
First book in the triology. Terrific story loved every minute the humor was funny and cant wait till the second and third book . This is an enjoyable experience you must try it.
This is a great book by Nora Roberts! I really enjoyed it. I also enjoyed the Irish accents and I don't know why the other reviews didn't. Aidan Gallager is so intense. This is the first in the trilogy. I can't wait to read the other two to see what happens to Aidan's siblings. You will want to run to Ireland....believe me>>>>
Nora Roberts is great. I would listen to any of her books.
I really enjoyed this title. The naration was terrific, the story sweet and endearing and I looked forward to getting into the car for the next chapters. Quite enjoyable.
Nora Roberts is an entertaining author and her audio books are no exception. The only thing about her audio books is the beginning is so darn long! She paints a long picture to set the mood and I have to keep reminding myself the story is "about to begin".
To me, this book was no exception. Nora paints the setting and it wasn't until the 2nd disc that she finally gets into the meat and potatoes of the protagonist and antagonist.
I agree with some of the other reviewers that the Irish "Dialect" the narrator uses can be annoying, but it also adds the charm to the book. Some dialect can get in the way but this book, based with fokelore and fairies, really is enhanced by the quirky Irish dialect (as least to this American girl!)
Give this book a try with an open mind. Once the story unfolds, its very entertaining and soooo Nora Roberts!
4 of 5 stars because of the long beginning.
The narrator worked so hard on diction and pronunciation that it became distracting - yes her Irish accent was nice, but every time she broke from the accent I found listening very difficult - I'll pick up the book and read it for myself - the story was delightful!
This is a great commuter book! I couldn't wait to get in the car in the morning and listen. The narrator is great - she uses a wonderful irish accent that really brings the story alive.
As usual, Nora Roberts is fascinating and compelling with her stories of Ireland and magic. Her characters jump right off the page and touch your heart strings.
Loved the book. I look forward to reading the other two.
