Summary
Speak Your Mind Effectively!

The best, most direct way to convey your intelligence, expertise, professionalism, and personality to other people is through talking to them. But most people have no idea what they sound like. And even if they do, they don’t think they can change it. It’s the Way You Say It is a thorough, nuts-and-bolts guide to becoming aware and taking control of how you communicate with others.

Dr. Carol Fleming provides detailed advice and scores of exercises for

• Understanding how others hear you
• Dealing with specific speech problems
• Varying your vocal patterns to make your speech more dynamic
• Using grammar and vocabulary to increase your clarity and impact
• Reinforcing your message with nonverbal cues
• Conquering stage fright

An entire section of the book focuses on communication issues in the workplace—interviews, presentations, voice mail, and more. Dr. Fleming puts a human face on her advice through vivid before-and-after stories of forty men and women who came to her for help.

Great book. Would give it 6 stars if I could. Your articulation and communication gets way better plus it's a fun read/listen. Will also buy it in book form so I can easily look up the passages relevant for the communication challenge I will be facing. Buy it!

There could potentially be good content in this book. The narrator kills it. I gave it over an hour and even skipped chapters and I simply can't get into it. I recommend a new narrator.

WHILE CERTAINLY ACADEMICALLY SOUND AND DELIVERED IN A 'GOOD SMART WHITE LADY' NARRATION (THE ACTUAL AUTHOR I BELIEVE) THIS BOOK PUSHED ME TO MAYBE GO FARTHER BUT THINKING ABOUT THE LEVEL OF COMMITMENT IT WAS (APPARENTLY TO ME) GOING TO TAKE TO ACHIEVE THE FORETOLD LIFE CHANGE. BASICALLY I THINK THIS GROUP WORKS BUT I JUST DON'T HAVE THE ENERGY TO DEVOTE. REMINDS ME OF IRVIN BRUNETTI'S BOOK: CARTOONING: PHILOSOPHY AND PRACTICE. IF ANYONE ELSE HAS WONDERED WHY IT IS SO DIFFICULT TO LEARN YO BE AN ARTIST FROM A BOOK- DROP ME A LINE. WHAT IP DRAGSTER!
