Summary
Is Atheism Dead? is an entertaining, impressively wide-ranging, and decidedly provocative answer to that famous 1966 Time cover that itself provocatively asked “Is God Dead?” In a voice that is by turns witty, muscular, and poetic, Metaxas intentionally echoes C. S. Lewis and G. K. Chesterton in cheerfully and logically making his astonishing case, along the way presenting breathtaking—and often withering—new evidence and arguments against the idea of a Creatorless universe. Taken all together, he shows atheism not merely to be implausible and intellectually sloppy, but now demonstrably ridiculous. Perhaps the only unanswered question on the subject is why we couldn’t see this sooner, and how embarrassed we should be about it.

Scientifically illiterate, and apparently proud of it.

This book is an up to date look at the evidence for the existence of the Christian God. The examination proceeds along scientific, archeological, and philosophical lines, presenting long accepted as well as more modern discoveries in each field. It's a vast and well researched book read consumately by its author.Metaxas makes many good points that you may have heard before, and many you probably haven't, and his enthusiasm and clear narrative keep you going even when he repeats himself, which he does rather often. Occasionally this enthusiasm carries him away, especially during the section of the book which takes to task the so called Four Horsemen of atheism. His intellectual takedown of the prominent proponents of atheism is succinct, but Metaxas's personal animosity comes through often. Not that the reader will necessarily be put off by this, since most everyone reading this book will already agree with Metaxas. Personally, I found it a tad grating, if obnoxious, though I agree with Metaxas's position completely, and find the Four infinitely more grating, obnoxious, and worse, indefensibly biased. That being said, this book is wonderful, passionate, intricate, and worth whatever money you spend on it. Metaxas is a worthy opponent to atheists, who can match and defeat them, blow by blow.

that was a total waste of my time. I was hoping for something not written but a biased view. I recommend to listen if only to learn how closed some believers can be.
