Summary
Across America a mysterious disease is turning ordinary people into raving, paranoid murderers who inflict brutal horrors on strangers, themselves, and even their own families.

Working under the government’s shroud of secrecy, CIA operative Dew Phillips crisscrosses the country trying in vain to capture a live victim. With only decomposing corpses for clues, CDC epidemiologist Margaret Montoya races to analyze the science behind this deadly contagion. She discovers that these killers all have one thing in common – they’ve been contaminated by a bioengineered parasite, shaped by a complexity far beyond the limits of known science.

Meanwhile Perry Dawsey – a hulking former football star now resigned to life as a cubicle-bound desk jockey – awakens one morning to find several mysterious welts growing on his body. Soon Perry finds himself acting and thinking strangely, hearing voices . . . he is infected.

The fate of the human race may well depend on the bloody war Perry must wage with his own body, because the parasites want something from him, something that goes beyond mere murder.

Ah... Listen, i suppose to some this story is AWESOME, but for me it was ok. I started listening to another book half way through this one because I lost interest. I finished that book and didn’t have anything else to listen to, so I finished Infected. I’m glad I finished it. It makes the reader want to buy Book 2 in the series to find out what happens. I won’t buy Book 2. The author/narrator did an awesome job!! I enjoyed the voices he created for each character! The ominous music used to separate each chapter was super annoying in the beginning but then you get used to it.

Loved the action and the awesome intriguing story line. Loved how the author changed the story as it went thru many different small stories to end up as a real surprise near the end. Never saw that coming. Started book 2 today called Contagious and so far love it too. I think it’s great when the author reads his own book because he add more emphasis. Keep up the great work Mr. Sigler.

love this book. It's great and the neration is great. Realy puts you on the front row seat of horror and suspense. Only not pick would be the sound between chapters it works sometimes but when the chapters get short it's a bit much. love this book though and cant wait to start the next.

Riveting story, as expected from this author. Really grabbed me and made me want to know what would happen next! Mr. Sigler's narration was better than the other author-narrated books I've listened to, but even so I have not been persuaded to change my opinion that authors are not the ideal narrators of their own work. Scott, just keep doing what you do best--creating awesome stories!--and leave the narration to the professionals.

Amazing book. Addicting, pure entertainment. A mix of the X-Files, disease management and terror.

The right mix of X Files and gonzo horror. This book was written for narration.

This book was great to listen to! I was a little skeptical at first when I realized the narrator was the author, not some voice actor...but man, was I NOT disappointed! The voices were great. I could totally picture these characters in my head as I listened. I think my favorite was the voice of Chelsea! But they were all great. The story was awesome too. It takes the horrible idea of this contagion possibly wiping us all out and infuses it with such dark humor...I was driving down I95 laughing my ass off!!!! Thanks, Scott Sigler! For a great story and incredible narration!

Great fast moving story. Yes, you might be able to guess what it's all about right away, but that doesn't stop it from being enjoyable. The author tries to go over to top a lot, but take it for what it is--fast entertainment!
