Unabridged Audiobook
I listened intently as Hadley related her experiences with compassion & love. She had a profound effect on my understanding of what we face as we approach end-of-life.
Beautiful book. I’m going to listen again because I wanted more at then end. As someone who has worked in long term healthcare for 20 years, I’ve experienced so many of the things she talks about. At first it’s kinda scary but as you continue to experience it, it becomes beautiful. Thank you, Hadley!
As an RN, this is an absolutely important read, even if you're not in the Hospice field. It gives light to a vast majority of humanity, extremely useful for day to day life.
Soooo many emotions throughout! I truly enjoyed these stories, Hadley! Thank you so much!
Watched Hadley on tiktok. Was really looking forward to reading her book. She reads her own book on here. And it's perfect. You can hear her passion for this career path. I cried with every story.
Really enjoyed the case studies, very helpful. Well written. The author did a great job as the narrator.
Loved it, Hadley is so compassionate.
love this book it made me cry
I absolutely enjoyed listening to this book
This book has evoked emotions in me I didn’t know I still had. I have not cried this much in years, in a good way! I watched several of Harley’s videos on social media, this audiobook is definitely an extended version of those. Her voice is really calm and sweet and just what I needed to hear at a time when my small family is getting older and closer to death than birth. I have often considered being a hospice volunteer since my dad passed away. Hadley paints a beautiful picture of the sadness, joy and wonder of her job. I don’t listen to audiobooks often, partly because I haven’t had time until now and partly because I am very particular about the narrators voice. Hadley Vlahos’ is one I would happily listen to for hours on end.
Really wonderful book, I didn't want it to end. Cried a lot. :,)
I lost my father recently, and although an atheist, this book gave me comfort, knowing that my dad felt no fear. Also, maybe he was also visited by his deceased siblings before he passed, whether that was a hallucination or not. It's still beautiful. Thank you Hadley, keep up the great work!
I feel this was a great listen. The author was authentic and vulnerable. Loved it!
Well written. Her cheery voice makes a heavy and sometimes sad topic enjoyable. She takes the mystery out of palliative care and dying. I highly recommend for those interested individuals experiencing this in their life or those of their loved ones.
I hope this will have a sequel. So amazing ❤️
This book tugged at my heartstrings and made me say "wow" so many times! I loved the variety of patients she shared, from differences in ages, diagnoses, and beliefs. Her own story intertwined so well between chapters/stories. I really appreciated Nurse Hadley narrating her own book - it really added to the authenticity. I wish there was more!
I loved this book. I’ve been dealing with a bit of an existential crisis after losing my dad and my 4.5 year old dog. Hadley's book brought me a bit of comfort.
Loved every minute of it!
Absolutely wonderful book. Heartwarming, tear-jerking, loved every minute of it.
