Summary
Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest is subtitled "A Trivial Comedy for Serious People," and has proved immensely popular since its first performance in 1895. The play certainly has its farcical and comic elements, such as the witty banter exchanged by the characters and the flippant attitude towards love and marriage that characterizes the action. However, the play also explores more serious themes through the central story of Jack Worthing's search for his identity. (Summary by Elizabeth Klett)

I enjoyed the narration but either for my first time hearing it or my first time paying attention (it was one of my grand mothers favourites). I did not enjoy the play. A comedy yes, but perhaps written in a cynical mood and about characters with few redeeming qualities.

The narration was excellent save one unspecified voice actor out of the many. The story itself was entertaining but a bit forward for my liking. The untasteful aspects of people’s character were grating as he meant them to be. I hated it which made me love it. The ending however, seemed a bit fumbled. Way better than I could do it! Ha
