Summary
After nearly a year and a half of grieving the loss of her husband, twenty-seven-year-old Alexa Sullivan Tate is headed back to her hometown after a decade of being away. She has no idea her high school crush, Jace McAllister, the guy who stole her heart the same night that he broke it, is more than ready to pick up the pieces.

Jace has spent the last ten years in the Army defusing bomb after bomb, trying to forget the girl who ignited all his passions. Little does he know that the spark still exists. Ten years ago they had smoldering chemistry, but the spark between them now might light a fuse that leads to an explosion even Jace can't stop. Not that he wants to. If only Alexa can get past her guilt and trust her heart again. But how do you put it all on the line when you've already lost everything once before?

This was a pleasant surprise! The traditional Erotica / Rominica books generally highlight a rich guy who chases a beautiful girl to find she is hiding a big secret and so is he...luckily is not the M.O. of this book. A popular high school baseball player joins the military and promises to return to a girlfriend who is forced to move while he is away. They are torn apart and lead to separate lives. They find each other again later to find they still love each other - even though he never loved anyone else while they were apart. She struggles with his career choice and he holds on to her until she succumbs to his unending love. What a beautiful love story ! Thank you Tessa Teeva for bring us a story on our everyday level. (Not a military Navy Seal or Elite Ops character) but a regular enlisted guy who loves deeply! Love this new writer now available in Audiobooks- love the narrators of course!

I really liked this book. while the story began to feel extremely repetitive after a while and it got annoying the fact that they kept dragging out the relationship it was a really heartwarming read. I was also able to pull out a few tears towards the end. That's a plus in my book.
