Unabridged Audiobook
I had to stop listening to the book. The voice of the narrator was that of a child, not fit for telling this story.
I enjoyed the book but as much as Nadia's other books. The narrator was not suitable.
The narrator is annoying I couldn't listen to it.
While the book is a strong portrayal of women in Afghanistan and resonant with all women's journeys. The narration is so unsuitable for the mode and tone of the book, it interferes with this story. I almost didn't finish it because of the grating voice of the narrator. She has an expressive voice better suited to young adult fiction. You can hear her struggle and fail to get back into character. I would highly recommend, "A House Without Windows" as a good read, but stay away from this audio version. It's just painful.
This book was long. Can not say I have enjoyed it. I found myself wishing it would hurry up and end.
