Unabridged Audiobook
I usually enjoy Joy Ellis books but this one left thinking it was kind of a nothing story. Didn’t have me intrigued like her other ones do.
I am a massive fan of Joy Ellis' detective stories and I was eager to read and listen to this book which falls into a slightly different genre. This is a wonderful story of courage and determination, beautifully written and full of warm and caring characters. It was a lovely surprise to see an appearance by DI Rowan Jackman & DS Marie Evans from the hugely popular detective series, and their personalities were as great as ever. Although the story is basically about Stella, it is the support and loyalty of her friends, such as Tom and Robbie, and grandma Beth which makes the story what it is and helps Stella flourish. Beth is a tremendous lady and could probably have a book all to herself. I have to say I knew nothing about urbexing before this book, so I have learned something new into the bargain! A great story full of life's ups and letdowns, and the narrator made it so easy to listen to that it simply flew by!
