Summary
When Angela was young, before she came to realize she had a rare ability, she was a rather ordinary girl. At least, that was what everyone said. But Angela is anything but ordinary. The daughter of a meth addict, she is convinced she was born a freak. Haunted by an abusive childhood, she was forced to become a woman far too soon. And in the process, she became more.

Angela juggles multiple jobs to live a secluded life in a cabin in the mountains. But she also lives a secret life, right under everyone's noses. Because her family's bloodline carries the ability to recognize killers, she adopts a solitary, violent existence in service of her own, personal mission in life. When Angela unexpectedly finds herself the prey of a group of international terrorists, she is the only one who knows the truth of what they are about to do. She might look like an unlikely hero. She might also be our only hope.

I have to agree with some of the other reviewers. The premise was interesting, as were the characters, but the author's repeated detailed rape and sadomasochistic scenes were kind of overdone. Add to that, his constant right wing philosophic references and it took away from what was shaping up to be a decent story. His made up references to how "sanctuary" cities work made many of his statements laughable. If he had kept it to cops who didn't believe her accusations because she was "trailer trash", it might have been believeable. What he put forth made zero sense to real life and for the story. I made it all the way through, though I must admit that a couple of times I nearly went to another audiobook because of the problems I mentioned. I had purchased another of his books at the same time, so I am giving him a second chance. Hopefully, this will be better.

The story was different, and couldn’t wait to see what happens but the language, F word, was too much! I’m listening to her other books, no language in the first two . The problem with filthy language is your listening as you work and a child or other family member comes into your work area and can hear the bad words!

This is very dark and violent, but a very good story. The character has potential. Assuming there is another book, it will be interesting to see the path she takes.

Interesting twist on psychic gifts. Loved the throaty voice of the Narrator

I agree with others that there were holes in the story logic, but I think it is well written and it is a dark and interesting story. Not for the faint of heart. I thought the narrator was excellent and did the various voices very well. I
