Unabridged Audiobook
I'm wondering if I am the only one who objects to the constant use of the F word. This author obviously has so much talent, that surely she could write an excellent story without the use of it. To me, it detracts from the story itself, and is not needed to convince us of the authenticity of the setting, character and plot.
I loved it and can't wait for book 3 in this series.
I loved this book! First book I have listened to by Slaughter. This story kept my attention the entire time. Highly recommend this book! Narrator did a great job as well.
Awesome book. I enjoyed it very much. The narrator does a great job keeping us engaged, strongly recommend reading it
Really good and enjoyed the narrator's voice.
I loved this book and the narrator was perfect!!!
This book was really disappointing. There isn’t one character that is well developed, likable, or deep enough to relate to. Everything about it was disturbing. The narrator sounded like a drill Sargent.
This kept me eagerly awaiting the solution to the rape and murder. The ending surprised me even though there were numerous clues leading up the ending. This was a great listen during my daily walk.
I like the Bible character.
This story had a great plot that led you in multiple directions leading to solving a mystery death
Enjoyed this book. I liked the way it was written in two timelines and two MCs, same town and circumstances. Enjoyed
My first Karin S book. Pretty good book, some good twists, decent plot.Reader was good, kept my interest.
I thought it was very riveting and can’t wait for book 3
A really good listen, and kept me entertained. This was my first Karen Slaughter book and she does a really good job of keeping the pace of the story and developing her characters.
I also enjoyed this book . Had a hard time stoping the recording. To do other things. Many facets and people to contemplate , . Look forward to the next one !
Really enjoyed this. A few twists but very easy to get through.
I loved this story! I am now listening to the story that is a prequel to this, but it was still great. I feel like it started out a bit slow and hard to get into and then it just took off and I was hooked until the end. Will definitely be reading more from this author. I really like the narrator too.
Not a ton of depth to any character for a book this long. The story kept my attention but by the end I was kind of annoyed like okay get this over with lol
Good plot. I did not appreciate the high number of flashbacks.
Great story
This was a nice read. The flashbacks to the 80s were triggering; a different time where the perception of rape by some blew my mind!!!
This was a very good listen. Didn't turn out the way the author makes you think, but very good plot. It's a sad murder mystery.
Would have to say this book went to my #1 out of my favorite top ten!!! This book was amazing!
I enjoyed this book. The setup and the flow were great, but the ending seemed rushed to me. The narration was excellent.
Well written, well plotted, well performed. Was great fun to listen to.
sounds good love a mystery
The clique was so horrible. Emily was so good. It makes no sense she was a part of that. I like Andrea, but she is always rattled in some way and that’s not great.
Started reading and was so surprised to see it was a sequel to Pieces of Her. I really enjoyed the book and the reader
It took me a few chapters to get into the story, but once I did I was hooked. The narrator was okay, but was quite monotone.
Good book, great narrator. Enough details and mystery to keep your attention and interest.
Trigger Warning...extensive conversations about a rape victim. The book was amazing. Lots of twists and turns with an ending I did not anticipate. Hard to get through in places where the assault was discussed. Great narration.
I really enjoyed this book. Recommend it
LOVED this book. It did get a little predictable at the end but the journey there was great.
Predictable and a bit boring. Weak characters.
Great narration and the story was fun to follow
Loved the plot as it unraveled. Wasn’t too easy to guess.
Great sequel to Pieces of her - hope to enjoy more books with these characters
fabulous book. I was totally surprised by the ending. I will certainly be looking for more reads from this author.
Great twists and turns. Too much criticism of young pregnant woman, for the time, tho especially get doctor and school
Great story. So many twists and surprises. A must read.
I really enjoyed this books twists and turns…nothing predictable! Excellent narration!
I loved this book! I found the plot interesting and the narrator was excellent!
I'm a big fan of Karin Slaughter and I absolutely loved Pieces of Her, and this follow up featuring Andrea Oliver is a wonderful read, in some ways even better than its predecessor as it adds new layers and intrigue regarding Andrea, her father and their interwoven past within the current case with which Andrea is tasked as a rookie U. S. Marshal in Girl, Forgotten. I'm really hoping that there will be more novels featuring Andrea. Highly recommended.
It's worth listening to "Girl Forgotten" if only to hear Kathleen Early's voice narrate Leonard "Catfish" Bible give U.S. Marshall Andrea Owen advice on how to do her job. It's truly wonderful! Would have given the book 5 stars for narration except for the fact there were lots of extraneous noises in the audiobook. Clicks, pops, nose noises, etc. were distracting. But, I'd certainly recommend it as a very worthwhile listen. I believe this is better as an audiobook than an eread or paperback.
The book was good, but the audio was soo much Better! The narrator did a wonderful job of expressing the emotions, she really brought to book to life. Several of the scenes were so much more haunting having heard them, than just having read them.
Excellent summer thriller!
