I liked the part where Dorothy, AKA “Cloud” went into her story. That was excellent. I’m also a gardener and although I’m not an old hippie, I did grow up in that era and I found it very fascinating and it connected the dots fir me. A total “aha” moment.
Love this book!! Enjoyed it as much as I did Firefly Lane the first part. I wish there was a third!!
Loved this book so much…when it was over I was so sad!
Loved this book
WAY too much rehash of the first book. It wasn't necessary to give us the same story from different voices either. And the portrayal of mental health professionals is almost criminal. The last third of the book was good.
Definitely not as good as firefly lane. Dragged on way to much.
Kristin Hannah really gave us closure to these characters and answered so many questions we had after firefly lane!
Loved this and Firefly Lane!!
I loved it! Good story
I thoroughly enjoyed Fly Away and found that I was engrossed in it as much as Firefly Lane. The way Kristin Hannah weaves you in and out of each characters lives is truly beautiful.
The life challenges and self imposed demons are very thoughtfully and I think powerfully created to draw the reader in and they allow you to hold your attention over an epic story. They may even allow you to recognize some of your own traits.
The really have enjoyed Susan Erickson’s narration and her ability to personify each character so well.
I really liked Firefly Lane and wanted to like the follow-up novel just as much, but I didn't. The main reason is that 4 years the seemingly normal people still don't have their act together and totally fall apart... after 4 years!!! And the one person who was messed up before, Cloud/Dorothy, goes through rehab and reclaims her life. While the story is written well it contains a lot sad and bad events: domestic abuse, child molestation, drug and alcohol abuse, teenage depression.
I really did not like Marah, the teenage daugther, in Firefly Lane and really started loathing her in this book. What a self-centered vapid twit. Dorothy's story was so sad it was almost too much to listen to, it broke my heart. But she really redeemed herself and became my favorite character in the book.
