Unabridged Audiobook
An interesting description about the character and role of recent First Ladies. What comes through strongly is that, with no defined role description, each First Lady has had to work how a role for themselves. Jackie Kennedy is perhaps the most well known and clearly the assassination of her husband dominates. Other First Ladies are less well known and emerge rather than I expected with the exception of Nancy Reagan. It's a touch long but keeps you attention.
Engaging at times, if repetitive. Narration was very robotic. Also, hasn't it been well established that JFK, Jr. was not actually referred to as John-John by his family?
Fascinating listening to the history and interaction of the modern First Ladies with each other, their husbands, their staff and the public. I enjoyed it and learned a lot that I had not heard before.
Excellent reading. Very informative and entertaining . There is so much to be admired about the First Ladies. It's another world that most of us can only read about. Good manners go a long way. I'm reading the book again. And recommending it to my friends. Yolanda Holly
